The Eagleby Giants Committee have ZERO tolerance from any Player, Parents, Guardians or Spectators breaching the following

• Abuse at or on a Referee, Linesman or Officials
• Drinking or having any Alcohol in or around clubhouse or grounds
• Anti-social behavior

The Eagleby Giants Executive Committee will ban any person or persons found breaching any of these rules. If the offender has a child playing for the Giants the child maybe asked to leave the club as well.

THE CODE INCLUDES (CLUB RULES)

PLAYERS:

• Any yelling from dug-outs is not permitted at anytime
• Follow the “Golden Rule” - Treat all other players as you would like to be treated.
• Play for the fun of it.
• Play by the rules.
• Never argue with an official. If you disagree, ask your captain or coach to approach the official during a break or after the game.
• Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately fouling or provoking an opponent and throwing equipment is not acceptable or permitted in any sport.
• Work equally hard for yourself and your team. Your team's performance will benefit and so will you.
• Be a good sport and cheer all players whether they be your team or the other team.
• Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player.
• Co-operate with your coach, team mates and opponents; without them, there would be no game.
• Bullying will not be tolerated in any instance and will be dealt with harshly by the Club Disciplinary Committee.

PARENTS / GUARDIANS

• Follow the “Golden Rule” – Treat people the way you would like to be treated
• If children are interested, encourage them to play sport. However, if a child is not willing to play, do not force him or her.
• Focus on the child's efforts and performance rather than the overall outcome of the game. This assists the child in setting realistic goals related to his / her ability by reducing the emphasis on winning.
• Teach children that winning isn’t everything, it’s how you play the game that is important, so the result of each game is accepted without due disappointment.
• Encourage children to always play by the rules.
• Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game.
• Remember, children are involved in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.
• Remember that children learn best from example. Applaud good players from both teams.
• If you disagree with an official, raise the issue through the appropriate channels rather than question the official's judgment and integrity in public.
• Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
• Understand the importance of volunteer coaches who give their time to provide recreational activities for the children and deserve your support.

 SPECTATORS:

• Follow the “Golden Rule” – treat people the way you would like to be treated.
• Demonstrate appropriate social behaviour by not using foul language, harassing players, coaches or officials.
• Children play sport for fun. They are not playing for the entertainment of spectators only.
• Congratulate both teams upon their performance regardless of the game's outcome.
• Respect the official's decision and teach children to do likewise.
• Never ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake during a game. Positive comments are motivational.
• Condemn the use of violence in any form, be it by spectators, coaches, officials or players.
• Show respect for your team's opponents. Without them, there would be no game.
• Encourage players to play according to the rules and official's decisions.

PLAYERS OBLIGATIONS

• Attend all training sessions and team meetings of the Club
• Obey all reasonable directions of the Coach, Manager and Executive Committee of the Club
• Play in all football matches in which he is selected to play or as otherwise directed by the Club unless a duly qualified Medical Practitioner rules him unfit to play
• Comply with all reasonable requirements of the Club relating to preparation for matches, attendance at social functions, behaviour, code of conduct and dress
• If injured; player will not be required to train or play until club has received medical clearance stating there cleared to play contact sport from what injury or injuries.
• Not play or train for any other Club or team (except for Queensland representative team or the league representative team) without first obtaining the consent in writing of the Club.
• Do everything reasonably necessary to obtain and maintain the best possible physical condition so as to render the most efficient service to the Club and to submit from time to time and as and when required by the Club to a complete a thorough medical fitness test and examination. 
• Not engage in any dangerous activity which in the opinion of the Club may affect the players ability to perform his obligations under this Contract without first obtaining the consent in writing of the Club.
• During league matches, wear only such items of playing apparel as may be approved of or prescribed by the League and to the extent that the same are not inconsistent there with, the Club
• Not comment with media in matters, which the Club has notified the player is a matter upon which players of the Club are not to comment publicly
• All registration fees must be paid by due date as directed by the Treasurer

DONATIONS

Clubs like Eagleby Giants JRLFC are responsible for preparing high quality and transparent financial statements to stay within compliance.

As part of their requirements, they must employ accountants and auditors to review their books and records. Audit standards developed by the Australian Accounting Bodies recommend auditors closely review business operations, particularly the control of cash and stock.

They must also determine the effectiveness of any internal control procedures and the auditor should identify any omissions or weaknesses in controls and advise the club management of these. Auditors also identify any statutory requirements that the club hasn’t complied with.

Clubs are expected to take reasonable steps to recognise and prevent instances of fraud, misappropriation, and other abuses. As part of this compliance requirement full details of all transactions relating to the club and club members (including players and their families) is to be recorded. In this instance via tabling of records of donations into individual teams at Committee Meetings (held monthly). In order to reconcile the club’s financial records accurately and in line with compliance procedures to stay in operation.

With oversight like this being implemented the club can:

• Avoid accounting frauds and tax aversion;
• Assist in attracting good branding and sponsors by being transparent;
• Attract and keep players and families;
• Assist directors in carrying out sustainable financial planning and quality strategic planning for the clubs future;
• Prevent the issue of football clubs going bankrupt through adequate reporting and oversight;

It has been identified that donations into individual teams by players, volunteers and families need to be tabled at committee meetings in order to meet Australian Accounting Body regulations. As such it has been asked that any managers who are in receipt of or are in the future approached to receive donations towards their team, table a letter to the Committee outlining the details of the donation. Details must include the following:

Committee Meeting you wish to be tabled at: (held first Wednesday of every month)

Name of donor: (Full details of person(s)/business donating)

Description of donation: (Full description of type of donation being donated. e.g. cash/clothing/vouchers/ services/item(s))

Amount of donation: $ 

Team in which donation is going to: ( e.g.  Individual Teams i.e. Under 12s/ All Opens Teams/ All Junior Teams/ Whole Club)

Managers support for donation 

Not tabling donations made into individual teams at Committee Meetings is in breach of the club rules and our statutory oversight requirements.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Individuals / teams may not make up there own Facebook pages or messenger groups, other than the club nominated ones only

Only in special circumstances can teams have a messenger page, only if approved by the Executive Committee. 

Non compliance to this, Individuals / teams will be dealt with accordingly by the Club Executive Committee
